Afterlight

This piece comes from one of Mayra's earliest paintings — a woman caught off guard at a wine bar, somewhere between being present and being somewhere else. It's an early piece in her figurative work, painted years before Cirqueros, and it still holds: warm light, a loose but confident line, more a mood than a scene. “Afterlight” names that hour after something happened, when you're still sitting with it.
